eShip was mentioned in Revista Cargo as project that digitizes the entire ship chartering process in an end-to-end capacity. This ranges from the initial ship market search function right through to the culmination of the undertaken voyage, covering all the interlinking stages of contract negotiation and freight agreement, the tracking of the various voyage execution processes in real-time, together with the recording of the necessary billing procedures and invoicing calculations that relate to the voyage’s financial settlement.
eShip will be a SaaS solution (software as a service) that applies state-of-the-art ICT tools to the traditional chartering business model, creating significant added value for the entire value chain in three key aspects: i) the optimization of freight rates via the intelligent matching of ships and cargo; ii) the reduction of back-office expenses via the automation of customarily repetitive and time-consuming procedures; and iii) the application of business intelligence and structured data analysis to achieve process optimization.
The primary aim of the project will be to develop and demonstrate the eShip Solution, originally from prototypes and then through to Level TRL7 – Demonstration Systems.
The solution will be demonstrated in two pilots:
• LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas)
• Dry Bulk
The anticipated support of the Target Clients will be a critical factor in the success of the project. In this way, the mutual interests of shippers, shipowners, shipping agents, brokers, port authorities, and multimodal operators, among others, can be unified in the common pursuit of enhanced efficiency and performance levels.
