The newest 639-foot, US-flagged freighter of Great Lakes’ made its first-ever stop on Tuesday morning in the Duluth-Superior harbour.
Interlake Steamship Co.’s Mark W. Barker has a capacity of about 26,000 gross tons. Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding built it in Wisconsin’s Sturgeon Bay, with steel manufactured from iron ore mined on Iron Range, Minnesota.
