Em termos de descarboniza\u00e7\u00e3o da economia, ser\u00e3o procurados combust\u00edveis mais limpos, \u00e9 uma exig\u00eancia actual quando se trata de transporte mar\u00edtimo. Existe uma grande press\u00e3o no sector da navega\u00e7\u00e3o para acelerar a descarboniza\u00e7\u00e3o.
